Security Industry Authority

The Security Industry Authority is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry.

An independent body reporting to the Home Secretary, under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001. They award approved contractor status (ACS) to security companies that measure up to against independently assessed criteria.
This is the gold standard that all security companies aspire to reach, and which United Guarding has excelled.

National Security Inspectorate – Gold

For over 40 years, the NSI has maintained a register of Approved Companies. These companies work to the highest industry standards demanded by the police, fire and rescue services and insurance industry. Businesses who choose United Guarding, an NSI approved company, have the reassurance that we are regularly audited to the latest standards, and provide high quality security systems, fire safety solutions and guarding services.

RoSPA

United Guarding is a member of The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and as a member its mission is: Exchanging life-enhancing skills and knowledge to reduce serious accidental injuries.

Armed Forces Covenant

The company has signed the armed forces covenant in September 2019 and are in receipt of the bronze award from the employer recognition scheme. This award shows the company’s support for the armed forces and their families.

SafeContractor is one of the UK’s leading health and safety accreditation schemes, and accredited membership demonstrates commitment to sustainable and ethical practices.

ACS Pacesetters

United Guarding Services is proud to be a member of ACS Pacesetters. The ACS Pacesetters membership is made up of Contract Security Guarding Companies who are in the top 15% benchmarking and achievement levels set by the Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme. There are currently approximately 835 Contract Security Guarding Companies who have achieved ACS accreditation therefore, it is very difficult for the buyers of security services to differentiate between them. In restricting membership of the ACS Pacesetters to the top 15% of SIA approved security companies, approximately 125 organisations are eligible to join. These companies, both national and regional, have proved they are market leaders in the security guarding industry and are therefore capable of providing an excellent standard of service to their clients and a high degree of care for their employees. As a client, it makes sense to include companies in the top 15% of the ACS scoring system when compiling your tender list.
